Rumors are abound on the internet right now, but word is that Sprint might be looking to sell off Nextel to stifle losses from its weakest performer. Several factors have caused Sprint to be forced into trying new tactics including offering up unlimited everything plans for as low as $99.

The problem with having the new N95GB imported from Europe before the North American version is released is that the nifty HSDPA won’t work. But alas, Nokia has finally blessed us with an NAM version that has the US spec HSDPA inside.

Sprint released Sprint WebCapTel, a new free web-based service that allows a person who can speak but has challenges hearing over the phone, to read word-for-word captions of their calls on a web browser. This new service is expected to help an estimated 23 million Americans with hearing loss, who may face challenges hearing over the telephone.

Nokia has signed a strategic partnership agreement with China Postel Mobile Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. (China Postel) of China P&T Appliances. China Postel is expected to purchase mobile devices valued at approximately USD 2 billion from Nokia in 2008. In addition, both parties have agreed to strengthen strategic ties, especially with regard to channel development, resource investment, and marketing management.

Nokia has officially begun stocking the North American 3G version of its N95 8GB smartphone in its two flagship stores in the United States. The handset is the same as the existing N95 8GB, except for the 850 and 1900MHz UMTS/HSDPA network support.
