PwnageTool 2.0 Available Soon to Jailbreak the New iPhone 2.0 firmware

Not long after Apple released the iPhone 2.0 firmware, the iPhone Dev Team announces the plan to release their PwnageTool 2.0 so that you can unlock and jailbreak your iPhone with the new firmware.

According to the team, “We’ve added lots of new features, including 2.0 support, spotlight file indexing of .ipsws, canned websearches, installer custom configuration, custom root partitions and various other things that you’ll see on the release. Release date is soon although not this weekend.

With the free iPhone 2.0 Software Update, your iPhone does even more. Extend its capabilities with innovative applications you download directly from the new App Store. Get push email, calendar, and contacts from your Microsoft Exchange server at work. And use new features in Mail, Contacts, and other applications.

SlashGear Reviews the iPhone 3G

It hardly seems like a year since the first-gen iPhone stormed the cellphone market, grabbing Apple a coveted spot in the top ranks of handset manufacturers and redefining the sort of usability people could expect from a touchscreen device. Now, however, the iPhone gets its first significant upgrade; you’d have to have been hiding under a rock to have missed the news that Apple have added both 3G and GPS to the handset - if you were, check out our WWDC 2008 keynote coverage - as well as dropping the entry price to just $199. The iPhone 3G launched this morning, and we were there bright and early to cover the event of a new cellphone.
