Apple's iPhone 3G has been unlocked by a group from Brazil. Unlocked handsets can be used on any GSM network in the world. The group plans to sell the service, which involves tinkering with the SIM hardware.

Ericsson and 3 Italia boost HSPA speeds to 5.8Mbps

3 Italia and Ericsson have announced that they were able to successfully boost speeds on 3 Italia's existing HSPA network. The network is now capable of speeds up to 5.8Mbps, all the while offering decreased latency.

Cool Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Game Available on iPhone in September

Wonder how you can swing the lightsaber with your iPhone? THQ Wireless is working on their new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the iPhone platform. The action game did not make use of the accelerometer, instead, your finger gesture is pretty much like the lightsaber in the game. According to crunchgear, the company will release the game on September 16th, together with the releases on other gaming platform. Check out the video demonstration inside!

Zumobi’s widget user interface now available for BlackBerries

T-Mobile reportedly plans to launch its new Sidekick model on July 30th. Seemingly dubbed the T-Mobile Sidekick 2008, this QWERTY cell phone will sport a 2 megapixel camera with video recording and user changeable shells, or faceplates.

Available from end July in Taiwan , BenQ E55 is the successor of the BenQ E53 model. The clamshell phone support 3G data connection, comes with a 2 megapixel camera and able to play AAC, MP3, 3GP and MP4 media files. A secondary video call camera is built at the middle of the clamshell hinge.
