Sony Ericsson to Announce new Walkman Phone Coming Thursday

Sony Ericsson is set to announce new walkman phone on November 6th Thursday, according to semcblog. At least one walkman phone and music accessory will be announced. The walkman phone is said to be W705, which has the similar design as the Sony Ericsson G705.

The slider phone comes with a 240 x 320 display screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, built in WiFi and aGPS. With a 120MB built in memory storage, the source says Sony Ericsson will bundle a 4GB memory stick together with the retail packaging, this could be different depends on your region though. The W705 should be available in February 2009.

The new music accessory will be a Wireless Portable Speaker MBS-900, suitable for those who love to share their music easily on the go.

Just Got Our G1

We just got our G1 Android phone and we will be providing a review later. So far I've been playing Pac-Man on the device and it's pretty fun.

I downloaded it from the Android Market, and according to the NY Times, the early download numbers are impressive with the estimate of nearly 3 million downloads in the first week. You can see more data on the number and types of apps on a report from Medialets here.

Nokia plans to lay off 600 employees by 2009
